The kidnapped graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago -Iwoye, Ogun State, Motunrayo Rafiu, has regained her freedom.
Rafiu was released on Sunday after her family danced to the tune of the Kidnappers by paying the sum of N 1m as ransom.
According to sources, It was reported that the victim spent five days in the custody of the kidnapper’s.
“She was released on Sunday evening after we paid N1 m to them ,” a family member said.
However, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, Williams Aya, revealed that the victim was rescued along with three others.
He said , “All the victims were released yesterday ( Sunday) by the abductors . Since the incident happened , our men had been trailing the kidnappers. The Special Anti- Robbery Squad , the Anti -Kidnapping Unit and the Police Mobile Force and Counter- Terrorism Unit were deployed to comb the bush and as of yesterday morning ( Sunday ) they were still there.
“A man was rescued before the other ones were released when the pressure was much on them . I am not aware of any payment of ransom and no suspect has been arrested . We are still on their trail.”
Meanwhile, a close source who begs to appear anonymous revealed that Rafiu was abducted on February 4, 2020 while she was on her way to resume at the Abuja campus of the Nigerian Law School.
It gathered also revealed that Rafiu could not be reached on her telephone, she was declared missing by her friends, who posted her pictures on the social media.
